The Aberdeen School of Christian Studies

The Aberdeen School of Christian Studies  (TASOCS) aims to strengthen the witness of the church in northeast Scotland by helping Christians to understand their faith more deeply in the light of Biblical teaching and to learn to apply it to the problems of living in the modern world.

TASOCS usually arranges short series of lectures or day conferences on related topics which can be explored in some depth. The aim is serious study rather than worship, evangelism or direct social action, although these may well be stimulated.

It is hoped to bring together Christians from different traditions who take Scripture seriously as their supreme authority, but recognise the need to understand and apply its message for today.

We see ourselves as supplementing rather than supplanting the teaching function of the local church by focussing on topics that are not generally within the scope of a teaching ministry, and by providing a teaching resource that few churches would be able individually to mount.

The programme of TASOCS is organised by a committee any of whom may be contacted for further information.

The lectures, conferences and discussions are generally recorded and are available for purchase or on loan on tape or CD.
